Shira provides services both in-person and via telepractice (video call) in Vermont for children and families who are looking to explore augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or who already use a variety of methods to communicate. Shira provides evaluations for AAC devices, therapy services for families, and consultations for school teams.

Therapy Services

Services can be provided at-home, in the community, or via telepractice to coach families to integrate language targets into daily routines, and work with your child to access multiple modes of communication.

Evaluations are conducted to explore which mode(s) of communication may best suit your child, such as low-tech core boards or high-tech communication devices.

Professional Development and Consultation for Schools

Shira provides consultation to school teams to support childrens' participation in school activities and curricula, as well as school-based AAC evaluations. She also conducts trainings for school staff to build knowledge of AAC strategies and interventions in the classroom environment.
